Is ShotBG really free?
Yes! You get 1 free image to try our service, with no signup. The free trial is limited to one image per device and network (based on your browser and IP address), so on a shared network — office Wi-Fi or a VPN — it may show as already used. After the free image, you can upgrade to Pro for $29.90/month or $99.90/year (300 images a month).
What image formats are supported?
We support JPG, PNG, and WebP. There is no hard size limit to worry about — larger images are automatically resized in your browser before processing.
How accurate is the AI background removal?
Our AI uses advanced machine learning to detect subjects with high precision, handling complex edges like hair, fur, and transparent objects.
Can I add a custom background?
Yes! Pro users can describe any background (e.g., "beach sunset", "white studio") and our AI will generate and apply it automatically.
How long does it take to process an image?
Most images are processed in seconds. Complex images with detailed edges may take slightly longer.
Is my data safe?
Your image is processed by third-party AI: Alibaba Cloud (ImageSeg) removes the background, and — for custom AI backgrounds — Google Gemini (via OpenRouter) generates the new scene. We delete original uploads about 1 hour after processing and result images about 24 hours after they are created, and we never sell your images or train our own models on them.
